Ellenor P. Guidry

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at St. Bernard Catholic Church honoring the life of Ellenor P. Guidry, 84, who passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm. It will continue on Saturday from 9:00 am until 11:30 am.

A Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 pm on Friday evening.

Father Evan Hebert will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Britni Mouton and Taylor Guilbeau. Gift bearers will be Annette Guilbeau, Deanie Hargrave, Bridgette Guidry and Jenny Guidry.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette.

Born on October 15, 1941, in Arnaudville, Louisiana to Benoit and Blaise Periou. She was named after the then First Lady Ellenor Roosevelt. After high school Ellenor landed her first banking job. She was a very friendly person and found banking customers choosing her teller window. She retired from Chase Bank after 25 years of service. Ellenor was filled with a lifetime faith and endless love.

She is survived by her husband, Doug Guidry; daughter, Deanie Hargrave (David); son, Charles Guilbeau (Annette); son-in-law, Ronnie Duplantis; grandchildren, Cole Duplantis (Laura), Britni Mouton (David), Chase Duplantis (Courtney), Justin Hargrave (Sarah) and Taylor Guilbeau; step-sons, Duaine Guidry, Greg Guidry (Bridgette), Chris Guidry and Cohen Guidry (Jenny); step-daughters, Claudia Welborn and Romna Kahn (Naveed); step-grandchildren, James Guidry, Lauren Autin (Trey), Cody Welborn (Mali), Jeremy Messa (Emily), Robert Welborn (Livy), Dylan Guidry and Mandy Guidry; and twelve great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Duplantis; brother Warren Periou; step-grandson, Justin Guidry; and parents, Blaise Hebert Periou and Benoit Periou.

Pallbearers will be Cole Duplantis, Chase Duplantis, David Mouton, Justin Hargrave, Greg Guidry and Cohen Guidry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Guilbeau, Ronnie Duplantis and David Hargrave.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to Ms. Betty Skidmore and Ms. Harley Barttie of the medical team with the Council on Aging of Houma, Terrebonne, as well as Dr.Dickie Haydel, Dr. Richard Haydel, Ms. Laura, Ms. Kisha, and special friend, Nurse Danielle Bergeron of Haydel Memorial Hospice of Houma.
