Catahoula - A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, May 24, 2021, at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula for Elmer Delaune, 83, who passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021, at his residence.Elmer was born in St. Martinville on February 15, 1938. He was a USL graduate and was retired from the State of Louisiana Department of Corrections as a Probation and Parole Agent. Elmer was also a retired veteran, who honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and tending to home projects. During his retirement he spent a great deal of time traveling to visit his daughter at her Naval Duty Stations, then visiting with her and her family once they settled out of state. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Glenda "Cabrini" Boudreaux Delaune; daughter, Candace Delaune (Greg Brown); sister, Leatrice Seymour; grandchildren, Brady Bergman, and Bryce Bergman; step grandchildren, Cassie Brown, and Cody Brown; and step-great grandchild, Jackson Niffen.He was preceded in death by his parents, Tilden and Manola Lasseigne Delaune; brother, Richard Delaune; sister, Patsy Akers; sister-in-law, Sable Romero; and brothers-in-law, Clyde Akers, Jr., Robert Seymour, and Exalta Romero. The family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana for their compassionate care during his final life journey.
