Emily Lynn Maturin

New Iberia – Funeral services will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 24, 2026, for Emily Lynn Maturin, 39, who passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Hospice of Acadiana’s Calcutta House in Lafayette.

Deacon Durk Viator will officiate.

Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm.

Emily Lynn Rollins Maturin was born in New Iberia, LA on May 19, 1986, and was a 2004 graduate of NISH. She worked as a CNA, then obtained a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

Emily’s children and grandchildren were the center of her universe; she cherished every moment spent with them making memories. Emily enjoyed the simple things in life. Whether it was dancing to her favorite songs or curling up on the couch to watch movies, Emily found happiness in moments that made her heart sing. Her adventurous spirit drew her to the outdoors, where she took pleasure in boat riding, fishing, and riding 4-wheelers. Emily was a great cook; she poured love into every dish she prepared. Being a clean freak, a fresh-smelling home was essential to Emily; she wanted everything around her to feel welcoming.

Emily was devoted to her two cats, Oreo and Blue, who shared her life for the past 16 years.

Emily loved Mardi Gras, and it seems fitting that her journey came to an end during Carnival Season, a time synonymous with celebration and togetherness. Her vivacious spirit will be greatly missed as family and friends remember her fondly, cherishing the laughter and love she so freely gave.

Emily is survived by her loving husband, Johnathan Maturin; father, Clifford Rollins; children, Trey Paul Duhon (Lane Estis), Madison Duhon (Mkel Romero), and Bentley Duhon (Hannah Maturin); siblings, Shawn Rollins, Ernie Rollins, and Lela Mason Dubois (Eddie); grandchildren, Brantleigh and Briar Duhon; special aunt, Brenda Rollins (David Hudson); father of her children, Travis “Bubba” Duhon (Kristi “Toto” Bourgeois) and their children, Chrislee and Kayden Duhon; sister-in-law, Brittney Maturin (Billy Smith); brother-in-law, Zachary Maturin (Haley Trahan); parents-in-law, Tisa and Mark Maturin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Bourgeois Folkerth; uncle, Kenny Rollins; and grandparents, Ernest, Sr. and Ramona Rollins, and Mr. and Mrs. Bourgeois.

Emily leaves behind a world more colorful than she found it. She will remain in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace.
