Emily Parker Posegay was born in New Iberia on April 18, 1987, and was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High School. Affectionately called her Dad's Little Coconut, Mom's Baby Girl, Laura's M&M, and Aunt M to her beloved nieces and nephews, Emily was a radiant presence in the lives of her family and friends.
She was a tapestry woven of wit, humor, and creativity, always the first person to arrive when anyone was in need. Emily possessed a true talent for hair and makeup that went beyond aesthetics; it was a genuine gift that allowed her to make everyone around her feel beautiful, confident, and seen. Her remarkable ability to enhance the outer beauty of those she touched reflected her deep understanding of what it meant to love unconditionally.
Emily was an incredible host. She had a way of making every gathering feel special, of turning simple moments into memories we still hold close. She made people feel valued, included and loved. Her vibrant spirit illuminated every room she entered, her infectious smile uplifting the hearts of all of those around her.
Though she could not always feel the immense love surrounding her, Emily was cherished far more than she ever knew. Emily loved with her whole heart. Her kindness, warmth, and generosity touched everyone who knew her. And that love is what we will carry with us – always.
Emily is survived by her loving husband, Steven Posegay; children, Carson and Ella Posegay; parents, John William Parker, Jr. and Janice Marie Rogers Parker; siblings, Laura Richard (Troy), Brandy Smith (Damon), Brent Parker, and Lita Munson (Donny); nieces and nephews, Connor Smith, Parker Smith, Aubrey Richard, Mason Richard, Emerson Richard, Leah Parker, Jaide Parker, Preston Parker, and Breeanna Munson; and godmother, Theresa LaCour.
She was preceded in death by all of her grandparents, Estelle LaCour Carter, John Parker, Sr., Alvin Rogers, and Mae Ella Rogers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Emily’s creativity, humor, and compassion left an imprint on all who knew her. Life will never be the same without her, but the love she gave us remains – unmarred, unforgettable, and everlasting. May she rest in peace.
