Arnaudville A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Emily Harris Zenon, 90, who passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 am until 10:30 am on Saturday at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am on Saturday.
Rev. Keenan Brown will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Evelyn Broussard. Gift Bearers will be Payton Broussard and Jo Bogan.
Emily enjoyed cooking for family and spending quality time with family and friends. Although she had only two biological children, she was a mother to many. She was dedicated to helping anyone in need. She also helped neighbors who worked and needed someone to be there for after-school care. She loved children and children loved her. She will be sadly missed by many.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Z. Babineaux of Houston, TX; four sons, Russell (Theresa) Broussard of Houston, TX, Joseph Ivory (Mary) Robicheaux of Houston, TX, Derenzy (Chero) Zenon of Arnaudville, and John (Lucy) Zenon of Scott; 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Zenon; her parents, Wade and Osalee Broussard Harris; her sister, Mary Jones; her brother, Harry Harris; three sons, Rodney Zenon, Royce Broussard, and Jimmy Broussard; three grandsons, Travis Zenon, Lemone Drake Broussard, and Clyde Zenon; and her daughter/granddaughter, Vanessa Sinegal Michaels.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Frederick, Joseph Ivory, Derenzy Zenon, Ferrell Bogan, Terrance Sinegal, and Marshall Broussard.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to her caregivers, Chero Simon, Keisha Charles, and Ms. Marcella Alexander.
