New Iberia ;- Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, on Friday, February 6, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Ernest J. Thibodeaux, 75, who passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 in New Iberia. ; Interment will follow in the Patoutville Cemetery. ; Rev. Bobby Cormier, pastor of the Lydia United Methodist Church, will officiate. ; Born on February 23, 1933 in Weeks Island, Mr. Thibodeaux is a retired school bus driver, having worked for the Iberia Parish School Board for over 20 years, and was also employed by M.A. Patout. A veteran of the U.S. Marines, he proudly served our country during the Korean War. He enjoyed singing, cooking, and spending time with his great grandson, Domanik. ; Survivors include his wife, Anna Guillotte Thibodeaux of Lydia; son, Lory D. Thibodeaux and wife Piedad of New Iberia; daughters, Tammy Thibodeaux of Lydia, Vickie Pichoff and husband Jeston of Lydia; brother, Roland Thibodeaux and wife Audrey of Lydia; grandchildren, Kaylee Funez, Diana Thibodeaux, Devin Pichoff; great grandson, Domanik Funez; Joseph Curtis, who he looked upon like a son; a special nephew and friend, Preston Toups; special nephew and caregiver, Julian Frank; sister-in-law and her husband, Cheryl and Leo Guidroz and their son, Laney. ; He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Prince Thibodeaux; a son, Rodney Thibodeaux; brothers and sisters, Henry Thibodeaux, Jr., Winnie Crochet, Dudley Thibodeaux, Orie Thibodeaux, Jeanette Prudhomme, and Russell Thibodeaux. ; Pallbearers will be Laney Guidroz, Preston Toups, Joseph Curtis, Christopher Frank, Randy Thibodeaux, and Van Bodin. ; Honorary Pallbearers include Ronnie, Billy, Ricky, Richard, Rusty, and Tiger Thibodeaux, Charlie and Henry Crochet, Beano and Kerry Prudhomme. ; A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. ; Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331, is in charge of arrangements.
