Cecilia – Errol “Dup” Duplechin passed away at the age of 79 at his residence in Lafayette. He was surrounded by family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elaine Guidry Duplechin; four children, Brian Duplechin, Missy Richard (Marcus), Kim Duplechin (Kim Bergeron) and Trisha Duplechin; grandchildren, Cameron Hohle (Alaina), Dylan Hohle (Kayla), Autumn Martin (Will), Justice Duplechin, Skylar Duplechin; and his siblings, Earl Duplechin (Gwen) Jane Scrantz, Gloria Bezet, and Sue Buchanan.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Laurette and Zilda Angelle Duplechin; sisters, Nel Latiolais and Judy Hebert. He courageously battled muscular dystrophy for many years and fought a long, brave fight. Dup proudly served his country in the National Guard during the Vietnam War. He committed many years of dedication to and retired with Frank’s International. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Warren Degatur and his staff for the many years of dedicated care they provided to our father. They would also like to thank Heart of Hospice, especially nurse Patty Broussard and the entire staff, for the compassionate care he received.
In accordance with his wishes, his body was donated to science. Therefore, no services will be held at this time.
