Eugene Leonard Resweber, IV

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 14, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Eugene "Gene" Leonard Resweber, IV, 28, who passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016, in Houston, Texas. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Rev. Steve LeBlanc will be the Celebrant. Rev. Keith Landry and Rev. Garrett Savoie will Con-Celebrate. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, and will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Thursday, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Eugene Gene Leonard Resweber, IV, was born in Dallas, Texas, on February 6, 1988, to Cecilia Ferrara Resweber and Eugene Leonard Resweber, III. He was a long time resident of St. Martinville, and was a 2006 graduate of Catholic High School. He attended Kettering University in Flint, Michigan, and Louisiana State University where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering. He was a Brother of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He worked as an engineer in the oil and gas industry for GeoTrend for the last year, and has several U.S. patents to his name. Gene was very passionate about football and politics, but he was most proud to be a father to Huxley. Gene is survived by his parents, Cecilia Ferrara and Eugene "Blue" Leonard Resweber, III; son, Huxley Alexander Resweber, all of Houston, TX; sisters Marie-Louise Resweber Bridgeman and husband Steve of Austin, TX, and Annemarie Resweber of Baton Rouge; brother, Ian Resweber of Baton Rouge; maternal grandmother, Annette Ferrara of Pensacola, FL; four aunts, two uncles, and 11 first cousins. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Patricia Ditch and Eugene "Brother" Resweber, Jr., of St. Martinville, LA; and maternal grandfather Kelly Ferrara of Pensacola, FL. Serving as pallbearers are Ian Resweber, Steve Bridgeman, Gordy Doerle, Harrison Hymel, Daniel Hebert, Nader Rabie, Anthony Bulliard, and Cody Schwing.
