St. Martinville - A gathering of family and friends be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, for Evelyn Marie Laviolette, 65, who passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021, at St. Martin Hospital.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday.Evelyn was born July 28, 1956. She was considered a true people’s person. She never met a stranger. Her family was everything to her and she cherished every minute spent with her two grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by many. She is survived by her son Lance Laviolette (Kaylyn Guidry); granddaughter, Cadence Laviolette; grandson, Conner Laviolette; sister, Sheila Broussard (Mike); brother, Albert Laperouse; companion, James Weekly; nephews, Cory Laperouse, Jamie Laperouse and Luke Broussard; and nieces, Carrie Lang, Alaina Laperouse, and Shena Hall. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy (Dugas) Laperouse; two sisters, Joyce Laperouse and Cynthia Laperouse; her paternal grandparents, Edmond and Inez (Johnson) Laperouse; and her maternal grandparents, Madison and Aureline (Dauphine) Dugas.
