Evert Aucoin, Sr.

Cecilia - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Evert Aucoin, Sr., 86, who passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Calcutta House in Lafayette.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia on Tuesday from 8:30 am until the time of service at 1:30 pm.

Father Joseph Brasseaux will officiate at the Funeral Service. Readers will be Lexi Sonnier, Aubriee Huval and Tessa Crochet.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Evert dedicated much of his life to working as an aluminum fitter and welder in the oilfield, as well as many years as a commercial fisherman. Evert was an amazing cook, famous for his fried catfish and white beans, and shrimp stew.

Above all, Evert cherished his family and he made sure his children were always his top priority. He loved to joke and keep those around him laughing. Evert brought laughter into countless lives and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Evert Aucoin, Jr. (Laura); daughter, Vanessa Huval (Jimmy); grandchildren, Chase Huval (Kennedy) and Berney Huval (Lexi); and great-grandchildren, Aubriee Huval, Ella Hebert and Asher Huval.

He is preceded in death by his son, Scott David Aucoin; parents, Felix Jim Aucoin and Emma Gros Aucoin; brothers, John Aucoin, William Aucoin, James Aucoin, Louis Aucoin, Lloyd Aucoin and Pierre Aucoin; and sister, Elva Rock.

Pallbearers will be Chase Huval, Berney Huval, Brandon Broussard, Abby Morales, Kenny Benoit, Jr. and Jimmy Huval.
