Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Friday, May 16, 2014, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Fernand Honor Doucet, Jr., 89, who passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday and continue at 7:00 am until 9:30 am on Friday at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Thursday. Rev. Paul LaFleur will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Steve Lacy and Eno Christopher Dupuis. Gift Bearers will be his granddaughters. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Mr. Doucet was a veteran of World War II having honorably served his country in the United States Army. Fernand was the owner of Doucet Oil Company of Lafayette, which was a Cities Service Oil bulk plant. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Breaux Bridge and the Woodmen of the World. As a pastime, Fernand enjoyed hunting and Sunday barbecues with his family. He was known for being meticulous about maintaining his car. He is survived by four daughters, Gayle Lacy and husband, Steve, of Lake Charles, Kerry Dupuis and husband, Eno, of Breaux Bridge, Denice Doucet Thibodeaux of Breaux Bridge, and Deirdre Doucet Robertson and husband, Neil, of Parks; his brother, Jack Doucet and wife, Beulah, of Butte LaRose; 9 grandchildren, Byron J. Robertson, Danielle Jackson, Eno Christopher Dupuis, Pierre Dupuis, Andr Dupuis, Meagan Campbell, Marsha Lalonde, Kevin Lacy, and Kerry Lacy; and 14 great grandchildren, Angelle Mare Lacy, Joshua Jackson, Aaron Jackson, Jessica Jackson, Brees Jackson, Harlee Jackson, Kameron Lalonde, Karter Lalonde, Kai Lalonde, Jacques Campbell, Jameson Campbell, Mason Dupuis, Ashton Dupuis, and Layken Robertson. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Alice Angelle Doucet; and his parents, Fernand Honor Doucet, Sr. and Rena Guiterez Doucet. Pallbearers will be Kevin Lacy, Eno Christopher Dupuis, Pierre Fernand Dupuis, Andre' Dupuis, Byron Robertson, Dustin Lalonde, Marty Campbell, and Jake Kern. Honorary pallbearers will be Al Broussard, Jeff Guidry, Neil Robertson, Kameron Lalonde, and David Melancon. Memorial donations may be made in honor of Fernand Doucet, Jr. to any veterans association of your choice.
