Florence was a beloved sister, friend, and mother figure. She was a cherished member of her community in Breaux Bridge, where she dedicated her life to caring for others.
Florence served as a Dietary Cook at St. Agnes Nursing Home for an impressive 30 years, nourishing countless residents with her culinary talents and warm spirit. Her passion for cooking extended beyond her profession, as she found joy in preparing meals for family and friends. Florence also held part-time positions at Trappey's Cannery, the Refinery, and Huval's Seafood, demonstrating her unwavering work ethic and dedication.
Known for her love of music and the thrill of lottery scratch-off tickets, Florence's vibrant personality brought smiles to everyone around her. She had a unique gift for bringing people together and always ensured that her siblings were well-dressed and ready for any occasion. Her caring nature extended beyond her family; she embraced many in her life, lovingly nurturing Tremaine, Raiel, Jacques, and Nevaeh, as her own.
In this time of reflection, we cherish the memories Florence shared with us and the love, joy, and warmth she brought into our lives. Her memory will remain forever treasured in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed, but forever remembered.
She is survived by her brothers, Dalton Alexander and Albert Alexander; sister, Betty Alexander: step-brother, Jimmy Lewis; step-sister, Leslie Wiltz; and her nephew, Kenan Demouchet.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Barber and Mary Alexander; grandparents, Victor Alexander, Sr,. Lucille Alexander, Paul Barber, and Annie Lou Barber; uncles, Joseph Alexander, Victor Alexander, Jr., Leroy Barber, Harold Barber, and Malvin Barber; aunt, Florence Williams; niece, Kaleena B.
