Parks - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, on Monday, September 10, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks, for Florine Melancon Delcambre, 80. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday and continue at 8:00 am until 9:30 am on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Sunday. Rev. Brad Guillory, pastor of St. Joseph will officiate at the funeral service. Reading the scriptures will be Randy Melancon and Patsy Hernandez. Gift bearers will be Camille Melancon, Jeannine Hernandez and Rhena Melancon. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Jeanerette. Mrs. Delcambre was born on October 28, 1931 in Abbeville Louisiana to the union of her parents, Maurice and Mathilda LeBlanc Melancon and passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at her residence. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who treasured the many times she could spend with her family. She was a graduate of St. Cecilia School in Broussard - Class of 1951. She is survived by her son, Rickey Delcambre and his companion, Lysa King of Lafayette, daughter, Sandy Dor of Breaux Bridge; brothers, Maurice (Martutik) Melancon of Houston, TX and Donald (Marie) Melancon of Patterson; sisters, Camille Melancon of Cecilia and Jeannine (Jimmy) Hernandez of Lafayette; grandchildren, Nichole Bonin and Cody Delcambre and a great grandchild, Adam Bonin. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Delcambre and a brother, Louis Melancon. Pallbearers will be Louis Hollier, Wayne Hernandez, Michael Hollier, Donald Melancon, Jr., Brian Hernandez and Patrick Melancon. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Touchet, Randy Melancon, Robert Rhoton and Jimmy Hernandez.
