Flossie Jolet Bourgeois

Charenton A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Friday, October 11, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charenton for Flossie Jolet Bourgeois, 81, who died Tuesday, October 8, 2013, in Jeanerette. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charenton. Born on October 27, 1931 on Weeks Island, Mrs. Bourgeois was the daughter of Herman Jolet, Sr., and Mae Bourque Jolet. A 1948 graduate of Franklin High School, she and her husband operated Bourgeois Grocery Store in Charenton. She enjoyed painting, gardening, and reading. Survivors include her husband, Boykin P. Bourgeois, Sr., of Charenton; sons, Blake T. Bourgeois and wife Trudy of Franklin, Wade A. Bourgeois and wife Teresa of Lafayette, Boykin Chuck Bourgeois and wife Tressa of Franklin, Deryl J. Bourgeois of Franklin; daughter, Greta P. Maxime and husband Ronald of Mobile, Alabama; brothers, Floyd O. Jolet of Lydia, Patrick Jolet and wife Gwen of Cade; sister, Sandra J. King and husband Billy of Thibodaux; grandchildren, Jason Bourgeois, Blake Bourgeois, Jr., Crystal Bourgeois, Brandon Bourgeois, Erin Bourgeois, Ronnie Maxime, Jr., Katrina Maxime, Jessica Sage, Jake Bourgeois, Jordy Louivere; and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Malcolm Bourgeois; and a brother, Herman Jolet. Pallbearers will be Blake Bourgeois, Jr., Jason Bourgeois, Jake Bourgeois, Brandon Bourgeois, Ronnie Maxime, Jr., and Ryan Sage. Honorary pallbearers include Jessica Sage, Crystal Bourgeois, and Erin Bourgeois. The family would like to give special thanks to Lisa Allen, Kierra Thibodeaux, Lowanna Dorsey, Lameika Sophus, Claudette Navy, Nicole Batiste, Barbara Eskind, Mary Douglas, Brianna Hill, Niketn Youman, Darlene Young, Mice Haney, Dr. Viator, Dr. Boudreaux, Dr. Rizzo, and the entire staff of Maison Teche Nursing home for their extraordinary care and compassionate.
