Francis lived a life rich with love and loyalty that touched everyone around him, so please join the family in celebrating this extraordinary man.
From his teenage years onward, Francis developed an unwavering love for horses. This passion blossomed into a fulfilling career as a thoroughbred horse trainer-a journey that not only defined his professional life, but also forged countless friendships within the racing community. Even after retiring from training horses professionally, he remained connected to the world of racing; it was more than just a job for him-it was part of who he was.
He had a special love of animals, especially his best fur friend, Charlie Brown.
He was always busy with a project, raising and training hunting beagles, raising rabbits and gardening.
However, above all else-beyond the racetracks and stables-Francis cherished his family most of all. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He led by example, through kindness and integrity, and instilled values of hard work, loyalty and dedication in those he loved most. He had a wonderful ability to make each moment special, whether it be sharing stories and many jokes over gatherings with family and friends, or during quiet mornings and afternoons sharing a cup of coffee with his favorite people. He loved his family fiercely and was always the first one to offer help and support like only he could. His legacy will live on through the memories shared among them.
He is survived by the love of his life, his devoted wife of 61 years, Elaine Leblanc Landry; their two daughters, Robin Barnes and her husband Steven; Janice Choplin and her husband John; along with two grandsons, Michael Guidry and his wife Ashley; and Noah Choplin. Two great grand daughters, Harper and Hailey Guidry; and two sisters, Janelle Landry Domingue and Judy Landry Racca.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Giles Anthony Guidry, and his parents, Cyrus and Florine Courville Landry.
His spirit will forever remain alive in our hearts.
