Gary Begnaud

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday, December 27, 2010 at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Gary E. Begnaud, 72 who died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Cypremort Point. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery , in Lafayette . Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant. Born on October 18, 1938 , Mr. Begnaud began his professional career working for First National Bank of Lafayette, and then for Harry Hebert Homes. Afterwards he owned and operated Service Tile in Lafayette . Mr. Begnaud then developed the Bayview Marina and Bayview Pointe at Cypremort Point. He was co-founder of the Cypremort Point Volunteer Fire Dept, and was very active in maintaining the St. Francis Chapel at Cypremort Point, where he served as an usher. Mr. Begnaud had a deep love for Cypremort Point. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Barbara Guidry Begnaud of Cypremort Point; son, Nicky Begnaud and wife Nicole of Cypremort Point; daughters, Brenda Begnaud Guidry and husband Billy of Cecilia, Toni Begnaud Gerami and husband Gary of Lafayette; grandchildren, Brittney Guidry, Blaise Guidry, Ben Guidry, Lauren Begnaud, Emily Begnaud, Nicholas Begnaud, Grant Gerami, Giles Gerami; and a great grandson, Cohen Theriot. He was preceded in death by parents, Martin and Doris Foreman Begnaud. Pallbearers will be P.R. Burke, Ken Dejean, Billy Guidry, Gary Gerami, Monte Stutes, and Blaise Guidry. Jimmy Comeaux will serve as an honorary pallbearer. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM .
