Gary Phillip Weaver

New Iberia – Funeral services will be held at Temple Baptist Church at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 19, 2023, for Gary Phillip Weaver, 81, who passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at New Iberia Manor South.

Rev. Aaron Weido will officiate.

Interment will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Visitation will be at Temple Baptist Church from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Sunday.

Gary Phillip Weaver was born in Meridian, Mississippi on October 8, 1941, to the late Phillip Odell and Jessie Walterine Weaver. He was a longtime resident of New Iberia, and a  faithful member of Temple Baptist Church for many years with his wife, Terri. Gary proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed traveling and adored his dog, Molly.

Mr. Weaver is survived by two sisters, Jane Cunningham of Terry, MS, and Dorothy Wright (Gary) of Brandon, MS; two nieces; five nephews; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews; stepson, James “Jimmy” Lee of Milhomes, IL; stepson-in-law, Brian Herring of Pekin, IL; step grandchildren, Alayna, Jonathan, Christopher, David and Katherine Herring, Timothy Sheen, II, Heather Olivier, Kristi Killian, and Micha Perry; numerous step great-grandchildren; and special friends, Cory and Casey David.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Thelma “Terri” Simms Weaver; sister, Joyce W. Hall; nephew, George A. Hall, Jr.; great nephew, Jason A. Rogers; stepchildren, Sherri Lee Sheen, Yvette Herring, Linda Perry, and Richard “Ricky” Lee.
