Parks A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks, for Gaston Joseph Williams, Sr., 77, who passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday and continue at 7:00 am until 9:30 am on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm.
Rev. Donovan Labbe will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Kwana Alexander and Latwana Livings. Gift Bearers will be Schrell Chevalier and Javon John.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Gaston was employed as a supervisor at Louisiana Sugar Coop. He was a former member of True Friend Society and enjoyed watching wrestling, hunting, and dancing.
He is survived by his wife, Emily Ann Blanchard Williams; his sons, Gaston Williams Jr., Kenneth Williams, David Williams, Christopher Williams, Mark Williams, Patrick Williams and Germaine Williams; his daughters, Tralissa Williams, Lissa Williams John, Geralyn Williams Ngassa, Ganora Constantine, Valerie Williams Sam, and Sarah Williams Wiltz; his brothers, Ernest, Michael and Russell Williams; his sister, Sybil Colligan; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Matilda Castille Williams; his brothers, Amos, Francis, Thomas, and Larry Williams; and his sisters, Mildred Batiste, Mary Helen Galantine, and Anna Mae Williams.
Pallbearers will be Gaston Williams, III, Antonio Williams, Adrian Williams, Germaine Williams, Terrell Chevalier, Norris Charles, Jr., David Sylvester, Junius Javon John, Jr., and Darnell Chevalier, Jr.
