Gayle Frances Wiltz

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Notre Dame Catholic Church honoring the life of Gayle Frances Wiltz, 70, who passed away on August 21, 2025 at The Arc of Acadiana - New Iberia. 

A visitation will take place at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Wednesday from 7:30 AM until the time of service. 

A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM on Wednesday.

 Rev. Abelardo Gabriel, SVD will officiate at the funeral mass. Burial will follow at Queen of Peace Mausoleum. 

Gayle was born on March 20, 1955 in Lafayette. She was born with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Gayle remained in her home under the care of her mother and her siblings. When her mother could no longer care for her, Gayle was placed in a nursing home in Erath. Three months later she was placed at Pinecrest Developmental Center, where she was able to learn many skills. After many years at Pinecrest, Gayle's siblings wanted to bring her closer to home. She resided at The Arc of Acadiana in New Iberia until her passing on Thursday.

She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Wiltz, Linda Lewis, Audrey Stone, Carolyn Wiltz, Cynthia Boyo, Lois Batiste and Donna Barras. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul Joseph and Louise Wiltz; sister, Virginia Wiltz; brothers, Gralie Wiltz, Leroy Wiltz, Charles Wiltz, Nelson Bonnie, Herbert Bonnie, Joseph Wiltz and Walter Bonnie. 

Pallbearers will be Brandon Batiste, Jimmy R. Batiste, Jr., Brad Lewis, Ron Lewis, Ray Anthony Stone, Jr. and Roderick Wiltz.
