Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Genevieve Babineaux Calais, 65, who passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Scriptures will be read by Minerva Babineaux and Dayanni Roberts. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Genevieve was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends to enjoy, as well as playing cards and Bingo. She loved her family unconditionally and enjoyed times spent with them, most especially her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She is survived by her husband, Dalton Calais; two sons, Jimmy Calais and Anthony Calais; three daughters, Katina Calais, Lisa Calais, and Terry Lynn (Gerald) Davis; four brothers, Rogers Babineaux, Harold Babineaux, Donald Babineaux, and Herman Babineaux; her sister, Ethel Boxie; three step brothers, Leroy Williams, Elroy Williams, and Mitchell Williams; three step sisters, Shirley Grant, Nola Chevalier, and Mary Jane Semere; and six grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Wilda Dartez Babineaux; a son, Dennis Calais; her step mother, Elvina Babineaux; her grandson, Tyrese Davis; three brothers, Steven, Clinton, and Nelton Babineaux; four sisters, Mary Jane Calais, Anna Laura Williams, Earline Davis, and Della Jean Batsite; and two step sisters, Beatrice Robicheaux and Judy Chevalier. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home on Monday, beginning at 7:00 am and continue until time of service. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Calais, Anthony Calais, Gerald Davis, Edward Babineaux, Rogers Babineaux Jr., and Tolcy Babineaux. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
