Genevieve Lynn "Jenny" Romero Rouly

New Iberia Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Genevieve Jenny Lynn Romero Rouly, 54, who died on Friday, January 31, 2014 in New Iberia. Interment will be at a later date. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 12:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Wednesday. Jenny was born on October 9, 1959, and was the daughter of Olan John Romero, who was a Captain with the New Iberia City Police Department, and Sybil Landry Romero, who also worked for the Police Department. Her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Landry were from Jeanerette, where Mr. Landry was a well-known barber and an avid hunter. Jenny had a passion for gardening, especially roses, and worked as the Head Groundskeeper at Le Triomphe Golf and Country Club for 10 years. She also enjoyed playing golf, going fishing, and spending time with her family. Her son, Hunter was the apple of her eye. Survivors include her husband, Eugene Gene Rouly of New Iberia; son, Hunter Eugene Rouly and wife Michelle of New Iberia; sister, Carla Romero Sonnier and husband Blaine Beanie of Coteau; mother-in-law, Joycelyn Muz Hoover of New Iberia; sister-in-law, Anita Lantier and husband Don of New Iberia; aunt, Marie Menard; uncle, Cyrus Romero; and several beloved pets. She was preceded in death by her parents, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Landry, Adras Romero, and Eloize Romero.
