Coteau A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau for Geoffrey Jeff Williams, 68, who died Monday, June 30, 2014, in New Iberia. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Wednesday. Visitation will continue Thursday from 8:00 AM until 9:15 AM. Mr. Williams was born on July 9, 1945 to Howard and Relah Brogden Williams, and retired from the Iberia Parish School Board after 28 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He is survived by his wife, Gail Viator Williams of Coteau; daughters, Wendy Lacour and husband Chad of New Iberia, Laura Gonsuron and husband Allen of Eunice; sister, Jean Hemken of Kansas; mother-in-law, Lillie Mazerole Viator of Coteau; 7 grandchildren, Samantha Rivers, Amber Rivers, Harley Arcemont, Ashley Arcemont, Heather Arcemont, Axl Lacour, William Gonsuron; 2 great grandchildren, Mitchell Rivers and Levi Gonsuron. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Fred Viator. Pallbearers will be Harley Arcemont, Nolan Galley, Samantha Rivers, Heather Arcemont, Amber Rivers, Allen Gonsuron, and Chad Lacour.
