Mrs. Georgia Mae LeBlanc Batiste, better known as "Mom" to many, was born on June 29, 1929, in Arnaudville, Louisiana, to the late Willie and Elby LeBlanc and entered eternal rest at age 96. She lived a long and beautiful life rooted in kindness, hospitality, and unwavering faith. Known by all as someone who "never met a stranger," she greeted everyone with warmth and compassion. Her home was a gathering place where her stove and refrigerator were always open, ready to serve a hot meal, a cool drink, or simply to comfort anyone in need. To many, her kitchen was the community's coffee house. A place of laughter, conversation, and love at all hours of the day.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved sons, David (Laura) Noel, Napoleon (Renee) Noel, and Ernest (Gloria) Noel; her devoted daughters, Linda (Gerald) Livings, Patricia (Ricky) Joseph, Brenda (Calvin) Journet, and Martha (Herman) Calais; her loving sister, Hilda Lyons; and her cherished bonus children, Bernadine (Joseph) Noel and Ronald (Michelle) Batiste. She also leaves behind her dear daughters-in-laws, Clamencia Noel, Lorena Noel, and Lula Noel, and her caring son-in-law, Lennis Phillips, who became like her own children. Mrs. Georgia is further survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will continue to carry her love and legacy forward.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernest Batiste; her parents, Willie and Elby Frederick LeBlanc; her daughters, Juanita Phillips, Barbara Batiste, and Betty Noel; her sons, Edward Noel Sr., Joseph Noel, Willie Noel Sr., Earl Noel Sr., Linton Noel Sr., Michael Noel, and Lee Allen Noel; her sisters, Rita Flugence, Mazy Landry, and May Landry; and her brothers, Whitley LeBlanc, James "Tom" LeBlanc, Alton LeBlanc, William LeBlanc, Wilton LeBlanc, and Antoine "Cliff" LeBlanc; along with a host of close relatives and friends who now welcome her into eternal rest.
Pallbearers will be Earl Noel, Jr., Linton Noel, Jr., Scotty Journet, Leland Phillips, Harvey Noel and David Calais.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ernest Noel, Calvin Journet, Napoleon Noel, Jr., Gerald Livings, David Noel, Ricky Joseph, Herman Calais and Lennis Phillips.
