St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, October 4, 2019, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Gercie P. Faucheux, 92, who passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Azalea Estates of New Iberia.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday and continue on Friday at 7:00 am until 9:30 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Thursday.
Rev. Garrett Savoie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Elaine Perioux and Sandra P. Champeaux.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Gercie enjoyed reading, line dancing, going to the casino, playing bingo, visiting with relatives and friends, and going for long walks.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oswald Joseph Faucheaux; sisters, Mabel Lasseigne, Yolande Leger, Doris Hernandez, Pearly Broussard, and Marie Broussard; and brothers, Dalton Perioux, Wesley Perioux, and Ernest Perioux.
Pallbearers will be Garland Broussard, Rickey Perioux, Dennis Periou, Ronald Leger, Tony Broussard, and Richard Perioux.
Honorary pallbearers will be Louis Eldrige, Barry Desormeaux, Ivy Perioux, and Farron Periou.
