Gladys Demouchet known to most as "Doo", was born on March 26, 1946 to Lucien Demouchet and Esther Sam Demouchet. She passed away leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and the love of countless family members and friends.
Gladys was a hardworking woman who spent many years in residential cleaning, but was a hairdresser for sometime also. Taking pride in her work and the relationships she built along the way. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures and had a spirited personality that drew people to her. Whether she was cooking, dancing, trail riding, visiting the casino, or hosting card games, Gladys embraced every moment with joy.
One of Gladys' favorite places was her porch, where she could often be found enjoying a drink, listening to music and spending time with family and friends. Those gatherings became treasured moments filled with conversation, laughter and love. Her warmth, generosity and welcoming spirit made everyone feel at home. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her daughters, Teddy Thomas (Everett) and Tessa Demouchet; brother, Stephen Demouchet (Prenella); sisters, Shirley Daniel (Ricky), Mary Batiste and Barbara Celestine (Shelton); grandchildren, Darrein Thomas (Jacee), Shalon Thomas (Gerald), Tradell Demouchet (Sherry), Chandler Thomas (Te'ra) and La'Draen Arceneaux; great-grandchildren, Carslie, Ashton, Avryn, Asher, Tre'son, Chase, Koilyn and Ara'lynn; extended children, Terry Boyd, Eugene Boyd, Lee Boyd, Richard Boyd, Betty Prade, Cynthia Boyd, Sheila Graves and Brenda Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
On June 06, 2026, Gladys received her crown and entered into eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her father, Lucien Demouchet, Sr.; mother, Esther Sam Demouchet; sisters, Wila Mae Butler and Gloria Alexander; and brother, Lucien Demouchet, Jr.
