BREAUX BRIDGE - A Mass of Christian service and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March10, 2011 at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Gloria Barilleaux Fuselier, 86, of Breaux Bridge, who died Monday, March 7, 2011, at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge. Interment will be at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Father Paul LaFleur will conduct the funeral services. Mrs. Fuselier was born January 7, 1925 in New Orleans. She graduated from St. Bernard Catholic School in 1942. After graduating from Spenser Business College, Gloria worked in Abbeville as a bookkeeper. Upon marrying Nolan Fuselier in 1946, she devoted her time as a homemaker and mother of four. She returned to the workforce in 1968 as a bookkeeper with St. Martin Parish School System for 20 years, retiring in 1988. Gloria was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Paul #434, a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary in Breaux Bridge, the Louisiana Bayou Volunteers for Family and Community, and a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Gloria enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include daughters, Gail F. Allen and Dianne F. Olivier and her husband Don, all of Breaux Bridge; son, Guy Fuselier of Dallas, Texas; daughter-in-law, Vicki F. Tyler of Tyler, Texas; brother, Mearl Barilleaux of New Braunfels, Texas; five grandsons, Jason Allen of Breaux Bridge, Cy Olivier and his wife Jeanne of Parks, Craig Olivier and his wife Pam of Breaux Bridge, Chris Fuselier and his wife, Macaela and Eric Fuselier and his wife Kourtni, all of Flint, Texas; and five great-grandchildren, Emile and Grace, Vincent and Lucy, and Kaileigh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Fuselier; son, Barry Fuselier; parents, Lionel and Gertrude Barilleaux; and four brothers, Ira, L.C., Jr., Donald, and Kirk Barilleaux. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Visitation hours will be observed from 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of the services. The scripture readings will be read by Jason Allen and Jeanne Olivier. The family would like to offer their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Warren Degatur and the staff of St. Martin Hospital, Hospice of Acadiana, and a very sincere thank you to her special caregivers, Vergie Lewis, Theresa Davis, Leola Journet, and Dorothy Lewis.
