Harriet was Born with a gentle spirit and an indomitable strength in Jeanerette, La, she devoted her days to nurturing those around her. Her laughter could fill a room, her compassion knew no bounds, and her warmth was a constant comfort to friends and family alike. She was a guiding light, offering gentle counsel and steadfast support through every joy and challenge.
She delighted in the simple pleasures of life, a drive with her husband Herman or any of her children, her afternoon walks with her dog patches to check on her neighbors down Knight Street, and her most treasured past time is visiting with her community, it always seemed to light up her smile. Her legacy is woven into countless memories: her endless smile greeting customers at Food-n-Fun for over twenty years, her endless hours serving her community as Knights of Peter Claver Junior Daughter counselor, her role as a teachers aid at St Martinville elementary and Junior High Schools, volunteering to chaperone youth group events and celebrations marked by her signature grace and generosity.
Her love lives on in those who survive her: her children, grandchildren great grandchild, and Daughter-in-law, who strives to live by her example; her nieces and nephews and friends, who carry the imprint of her kindness; and her community, forever enriched by her presence. Though her absence leaves an emptiness that can never be filled, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
She is survived by her sons, Alfred Anthony of Youngsville and George Anthony of Shreveport; her daughter, Cynthia Anthony of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Roc Paul Boutte and Justice Anthony, both of New Iberia; and her great-grandson, Ayden Samuel Quinn Boutte. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Anthony.
A special acknowledgment is given to her devoted caregivers, Brianna Guilliam and Kasey Key, and countless others who became like family and provided loving support throughout her later years.
