Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 29, 2024, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, for Hayworth Joseph Hebert, 79, who passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. 

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM. 

A Rosary will be prayed at 12 noon, by Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert. 

 Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Jaelyn and Brett Hebert. Gift bearers will be Zach and Ana Thibodeaux.

Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2. 

Throughout his distinguished career in the banking industry, Hayworth earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and peers. Employed as the President of Farmers-Merchants Bank & Trust and as the owner and President of Bevco Finance Company, his contributions to the financial sector were invaluable. He was also an active member of the Louisiana Bankers Association, Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival Association, and the Jaycees, demonstrating his commitment to community involvement and professional excellence.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Hayworth found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He took great pride in meticulously maintaining his yard, especially enjoying the tasks of cutting grass and tending to his garden. However, his greatest source of happiness came from spending cherished moments with his family, friends, and beloved grandchildren.

Hayworth's indomitable spirit, dedication, and profound love for his family and community will forever live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him and work with him. 

He is survived by his son, Todd Hebert (Karen); daughter, Sharelle (Todd) Thibodeaux; grandchildren, Brett Hebert (Jaelyn), Zach Thibodeaux, and Ana Thibodeaux; and his great-grandchildren, Myles Hebert and Keely Hebert. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Horta Begnaud Hebert; beloved wife, Beverly Frederick Hebert; brothers, Wilford Hebert and Louis Hebert; and his sisters, Hazel Lagrange, Verna Gaultier, Thelma Hebert, Rita Toutcheque, and Eva Dell Roseberry. 

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Landmark of Acadiana for the care and compassion that was provided to him for the past five years. 

Memorial donations, in his name, can be made to Hope Hospice,301 E. Kaliste Saloom Rd.,Ste. 201, Lafayette, LA 70508, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or to an organization of your choice. 

Pallbearers will be Brett Hebert, Todd Thibodeaux, Zach Thibodeaux, Chummy Bourque, Tommy Chauffe, and Keith Roseberry.
