Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, November 25, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia honoring the life of Heather N. Dejean, 38, who passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Monday from 10:00 AM to 3:45 PM.

A rosary will be prayed at 2:00 PM on Monday.

Father Greg Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Riley Dejean, Adria Theriot and Pam Guidry. 

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.

Heather was born on March 12, 1986, in Lafayette. A life that can only be described as beautiful, Heather was a quintessential embodiment of selflessness, dedicated to her family and community.

Family was everything to Heather. She was a nurturing presence whose warmth enveloped all fortunate enough to know her. Her grandchildren were the bright stars in her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that would be treasured forever. Each laugh shared, each hug exchanged, and every day spent together showcased her love as a remarkable force that touched many lives.

Heather's nurturing nature didn't stop at her family; she extended her kindness to friends and colleagues alike. Known for her problem-solving skills and her innate ability to put others first, she was a constant source of support to those around her. Her job at the bank was not just a profession; it was a platform where she poured her heart into helping others, cultivating deep-rooted connections with clients and co-workers. Heather was a true people-pleaser, often going above and beyond to ensure that everyone felt valued and heard.

In addition to her commitment to her family and career, Heather had a passion for watching her children play sports. The pride that beamed from her as she cheered them on is a testament to her dedication as a mother. Each game turned into a celebration of their efforts, reinforcing her role as their biggest fan and greatest supporter.

Heather N. Dejean leaves behind a legacy that is painted with stories of kindness, laughter, and love. Her absence will be deeply felt, yet her spirit will continue to inspire those she cared for so deeply. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family, friends, and colleagues; her life was a gift, one that encouraged others to embrace love and generosity in their own lives. 

She is survived by her husband, Roger Dejean; mother and step father, Jessica and Ricky Duhon, Sr.; son, Timmy Dejean (Kyleigh); daughters, Riley Dejean (Lucas) and Alexis Dejean; grandchildren, Kylyn Blanchard, Oakleigh Grace Blanchard and Grayson Lester; sister, Della Stelly; step sisters, Mona Duhon and Ashley Duhon; and her step brother, Ricky Duhon, Jr.

She is preceded in death by her father, Timmy Stelly; great-grandmother, Della Mae Bourque; and her grandfather, Jessie Stelly.

Pallbearers will be Roger Dejean, Timmy Dejean, Ricky Duhon, Sr., Jason Stelly, Sr., Jason Stelly, Jr. and Lucas Blanchard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Duhon, Jr. and Jessie Thibodeaux.
