Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 20, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church honoring the life of Henry "Gim" Batiste, 84, who passed away on December 10, 2025, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center.
A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday, December 20,2025, from 7:00 am to 10:00 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Saturday.
Rev. George Bede Ajuruchi, SSJ will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Burial will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.
Henry "Gim" Batsite was born on August 27, 1941, in Breaux Bridge. Known for his joyful spirit and generous heart, Gim brought light and laughter wherever he went. He loved dancing, good music, and a lively game of cards, he was always the one to keep the fun going.
Most of all, Gim cherished being surrounded by the people he loved. His family and friends were the center of his world, and he was happiest in their company. A truly giving person, he never hesitated to help others and made everyone feel welcome.
Gim will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him, but his warmth, kindness, and the joyful memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those he touched.
He is survived by his brother, John J Batiste; sisters, Mary Lee Batiste Lewis, Ethel Batiste O'Bannon and Anna M. Batiste Storrs; and host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorencia LeBlanc Batiste, Jr.; brothers, Andrew Batiste, Leroy Alexander Batiste and Harris Batiste; and his niece, Lana Lewis.
Pallbearers will be John J. Batiste, Isaiah Lewis, Elijah Jude Lewis, Xavier Lewis, Earl Landry, Jr. and Ernest Batiste, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sean Lewis, Courtland Cyprien, Lathaniel Dugas, Rodney Johnson and Loyner Storrs.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
