Henry Romero

Coteau – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church for Henry Romero, 84, who passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at his residence.

Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum.

Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant and Deacon Keith Duhon will assist.

Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Saturday, from 8:00 am until 9:00 am.

A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Friday at Pellerin Funeral Home.

A native and lifelong area resident, Mr. Romero was born on December 13, 1940, to the late Edwin and Beulah Romero. He retired as a foreman from the State Department of Transportation after 34 years of service, and then later retired from the Coteau Water System. Mr. Romero enjoyed raising chickens, horses, and cattle. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his sons, Stoney Romero (Suzette) of New Iberia, Danny Romero of Lafayette, and Telly Romero (Tobi) of Fort Collins, Colorado; brother, Louis “Man” Romero of Augusta, Georgia; sisters, Grace Romero Decoux of Coteau and Jean Delahoussaye of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Trent Romero (Heidi), Stormey Romero, Liam Cox, and Ceanna Cox; great grandchildren, Riley Romero, Roxey Romero, Tucker Hebert, Tanner Hebert, Marklin Reaux, III, and Sawyer Reaux.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Romero; brother, Percy Romero; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Decoux.

Pallbearers will be Stoney Romero, Danny Romero, Telly Romero, Trent Romero, Chad Romero, and Liam Cox.
