Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Joseph Herbert 'Tobin' Miller, 96, who passed away on Friday, May 13, 2011 at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville. Father Keenan Brown will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Gwen Roese and Rosie Miller. Gift Bearers will be Paige and Alicia Frederick. Entombment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Mausoleum. Prior to his retirement as a foreman with the St. Landry Parish Police Jury, he had also worked on the dredge boats and did some farming as well. His hobbies included gardening and hunting wild game in and around St. Landry and St. Martin Parishes. Survivors include his son, Edward Miller and his wife, Mildred, of Arnaudville; his brother, Roger Miller of Leonville; a sister, Elda Robin and her husband, Curley, of Port Barre; three grandchildren Jed Miller and his wife, Rosie, of Arnaudville, Gwen Roese and her husband, Marc, of Decatur, AL, and Paige Frederick and her husband, Randal, of West Melbourne, FL; and five great grandchildren, Matthew Roese of Laughlin A.F.B. TX, Lauren Roese of Columbia, SC, Blaine Miller of Moss Bluff, Alicia and Jared Frederick of West Melbourne, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alicia Zerangue Miller; his parents, Joseph and Helene Arnaud Miller; three brothers, Gerald, Carroll, and Willard Miller; and seven sisters, Alida M. Ray, Lillian M. Hebert, Edna Miller, Louise M. Arnaud, Alma M. Stelly, Emily Miller, and Lou Ella Dekerlegand. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday and on Tuesday at 7 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be Jed Miller, Blaine Miller, Marc Roese, Leroy Zerangue, Willie Stelly, and Earl Stelly. Honorary pallbearer will be Jared Frederick.
