Herman Guidroz

Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. , on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 , at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Herman 'Cowboy' Guidroz, 84, who passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette . Deacon Ken ;Arnaud will conduct the services. Entombment will follow at St. John Francis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Herman worked in dredging from the age of 18 until retiring at age 65. He was employed with CF Bean and TL James Dredging Company. Herman traveled a great deal while working in places such as Nigeria , Africa and Saudi Arabia . He was currently employed at Kevin Guidry Produce Company. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Pearl W. Guidroz; his son, Herman Michael Guidroz and his wife, Bonnie of Lafayette; his daughters, Bonnie Hayes and her husband, Craig of Arnaudville, Dianne Johnson and her husband, Mark of Lafayette and Brenda Hughes and her husband, Keith of Prairieville: his sisters, Carrie Angelle of Cecilia and Vivian LeBlanc of Leonville; his 15 grandchildren, Courtney, Nick, Megan, Brett, Garrett, Abby, Dane, Taryn, Shawna, Jade, Katie, Brandon, Victoria, Trevor and Jamie and 7 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Dutile and Alzaire Lalonde Guidroz; his sisters, Grace Richard, Nolie Sanders and Jesslyn Stelly; and his brothers, Edmond , Jessie, Joseph Lee and Francis Guidroz. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011 and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited on Monday. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Pitre, Trevor Johnson, Dane Guidroz, Garrett Hughes, Ronald Decou and Vernon Sanderford. Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville is in charge of arrangements.
