Hilda Ashley

New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 6:00 PM , Friday, December 31, 2010 , at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Hilda Ashley, 80, who passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 in New Iberia . Born on April 30, 1930 , in Stephenville , Louisiana , Hilda was the daughter of Luke and Louise Hebert Duval. She was a member of the St. Martinville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, her ministry was her passion and will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Hildas hobbies included gardening, cooking and shopping. Her greatest joy in life was her family and the time she shared with them. On January 20, 2011 , Hilda would have celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary with the love of her life, Huey, with whom she shared a wonderful and supportive circle of family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Huey O. Ashley of St. Martinville; her sons, Mark Ashley, wife Leann of St. Martinville, Richard Ashley, wife Tanya of Opelousas, Leroy Meaux, wife Ruth, Harold Melancon, Sr., wife Mary, both of Baldwin; her daughters, Osie Meaux, fiancee Ronald Holt of Patterson, Gloria Trosclair, husband Alvin Trosclair, Jr. of Baldwin, Dale Ann Anslum, husband Ronald Anslum, Sr. of Charenton, Abbie Offerdahl, husband Nels of Pensacola, FL, Tammy Ashley of New Iberia; her sister, Enola Aucoin, husband William of Belle River, LA; she is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Hilda was preceded in death by her son, Huey Ashley, Jr.; twin sons, Matthew and Luke Meaux; her brothers, Loveless and Roland Duval; her sister, Eva Dell Duval; her grandsons, Ethan Aaron Ashley and Kenneth Broadway. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia .
