New Iberia – A memorial gathering will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, for Hope Renee Romero, 43, who passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
Hope Renee Romero was born on January 30, 1982. She was a vibrant spirit and delighted in the simple things in life. She could often be found fishing and crabbing, sharing these tranquil moments with loved ones. Her affinity for nature was matched only by her unwavering love for animals, particularly her cherished cats, Whiskers and Andy, who held a special place in her heart. To her, they were more than pets; they were beloved members of her family that offered constant companionship and affection.
A strong and enthusiastic coffee aficionado, Hope took great pleasure in savoring her daily brew. However, it was in the kitchen where her creativity shone brightest. Renowned among her friends and family as the best cheese stick maker in Louisiana, she found happiness in crafting delicious pizzas, bringing people together around the dining table to share laughter and conversation.
Cleaning was more than a chore for Hope; it was her therapy, a time when she could reflect and find balance in her busy life. She also had a fondness for modern technology, often finding herself engrossed in Tik Tok videos, where she could indulge in both entertainment and inspiration.
Above all, Hope's greatest accomplishment and source of pride was her daughter, Kelsie. Their bond was unshakeable, and her love for Kelsie was fierce and unwavering. Hope was not just a mother; she was Kelsie's unwavering supporter, providing guidance, laughter, and a nurturing presence that will forever echo in Kelsie's heart.
Hope is survived by her daughter, Kelsie Romero; her loving mother, Darlene Migues; siblings, Scott Delcambre (Holly) and Mandy Myers (Louis); and nieces and nephews, Ethan and Evan Delcambre, Alysiah and Deja Doucet, Justin Willis, Gabby Brown, Brianna McDaniel, and Caitlyn and Tyler Johnson.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bridget Romero; uncle and aunt, Eli and Brenda Migues; and maternal grandparents, Clifford and Theresa Clements Migues.
As we remember Hope, we celebrate her joyful spirit, her love for family and friends, and her passion for the little things in life that brought her so much happiness. May she rest in peace.
