New Iberia ;- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Horace Glenn Van Cleve, 80, who passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2009 in New Iberia. ; Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. ; Rev. Floyd Calais will be the Celebrant. Readers are Denis Romero and Stephen G. Van Cleve. Gift Bearers include Kally J. Van Cleve and Constance Ann Van Cleve. ; Born on December 22, 1928, Mr. Van Cleve worked for Shell Oil Company and M & M Oil Tools. In addition, he is the former owner of Iberia Mall Fabric Store and is a former bus driver for the Iberia Parish School Board. He was a member of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church where he served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Principal of the School of Religion, Sacristan, a Counter, and attended a Cursillo at Prairie Ronde. A member of the USS Ingrahm Association in California, Mr. Van Cleve was an assistant Scout Master for Troop 133 and was a marshal at Squirrel Run. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, traveling, and camping. ; Survivors include his wife of almost 58 years, Nona Blanchet Van Cleve of New Iberia; son, Stephen G. Van Cleve and wife Constance Ann of New Iberia; daughter, Joy V. Dobler of Overland Park, Kansas and husband Conrad; brother, Guy Van Cleve of Port Arthur, Texas; grandchildren, Jacob C. Van Cleve, Francis A. Olivier, Holli D. Dobler, Stephen D. Dobler; and a great granddaughter due to arrive in July. ; He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Van Cleve, Sr. and Viola Primeaux Van Cleve; sister, Key DePeter. ; Pallbearers include Jacob C. Van Cleve, Francis A. Olivier, Holli D. Dobler, Stephen D. Dobler, Ernest Lancon, and Pat LeBlanc. ; Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Janice Nugent and Leo Bradburn. ; A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia.
