Arnaudville- Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, January 7, 2011, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Arnaudville, for Ida "Bernice" Homan Robin, 79, who passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Iberia Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Minister Travis Savoy will conduct the funeral service.
Bernice enjoyed watching old western movies, working in puzzle books, talking on the phone, and visiting with her family and friends. She always looked forward to attending the Homan Family Reunions.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Jeffery (Wanda) Horton of Coteau Holmes, Mrs. Sidney (Theresa) Melancon, and Mrs. Stephen (Brenda) Bolton, both of Parks; one son, Danny Robin and wife, Gail, of Loreauville; two step sons, Harry Lee Robin of Breaux Bridge, and Chet Robin of Gramercy; four brothers, Charles Homan of Fayetteville, NC, John Homan of Corrigan, TX, Marvin Homan, and Robert Homan, both of Greenville, MS; four sisters, Orene Leach of Conroe, TX, Libby Rork of Indianapolis, IN, Christine Roberts of Ellettsville, IN, and Dorothy Burke of Oneida, TN; 7 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, 37 step great grandchildren; and 5 step great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Robin; her parents, Irving and Katie Eddelston Homan; two brothers, Alonzo and Lester Homan; step daughter, Loretta Robin; step son, Mervin Robin; 4 step grandchildren, David, John Willis, and Angela Robin, and Yvonne Lanclos; and a step great granddaughter, Sadie Lanclos.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday and continue on Friday at 7 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers will be Danny, Chet, and Dale Robin, Erick Arnaud, Jeffery Horton, and Sidney Melancon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Lee Robin, and Charles, John, Marvin, and Robert Homan.
