Immaculate DeRouen

We are comforted in the knowledge that God, in His infinite wisdom, has called our beloved at her appointed time. With her purpose served, she has gone to her earned reward, leaving for us many cherished memories and countless spiritual life examples.

Immaculate Guillory DeRouen, 78, completed her earthly journey on June 13, 2026 - which rightfully happened to be the feast of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Immaculate was born on September 26, 1947, in Iberia Parish, Louisiana.

Immaculate (“My Honey”, Mama, Granny, Tee, Aunt Tee, Mac) graduated from Jonas Henderson High School and attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now UL-Lafayette). She was employed at BellSouth, retired after 35 years of service then was requested to return for an additional year to assist with Hurricane Katrina support.

She participated in Cursillo (Short Course in Christianity) in 1995 which helped her discover her personal vocation and deepen her faith through fellowship, prayer, and study. Her spiritual stewardship included: Choir Member, Eucharistic Minister for the Home Bound and Hospitalized, Religion Teacher and Rectory Office Support.

She loved to travel and was blessed with the opportunity of attending 15 religious pilgrimages abroad. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for special occasions. Brisket, fried shrimp and asparagus pin wheels were a few of her specialties in the kitchen.

Immaculate is survived by her husband Chester DeRouen Jr., sons Chester DeRouen III (Christine) and Patrick R. DeRouen (Brady Stoor), granddaughter Taylor DeRouen Belaire (Logan), sisters-in-law Geraldine “Deany” Verdun and Estelita “Lita” Wilson, brother-in-law Joseph T. DeRouen Sr. (Kathleen), numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
