Ione Perkins Guirard

St. Martinville - Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 pm, on Friday, April 25, 2014, at Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church in St. Martinville, for Ione Albrie Perkins Guirard, 90, who passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at St. Martinville Rehab & Nursing Ctr.. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday and continue at 9:00 am until 12 noon on Friday. Brother Jessie Charpentier will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at Methodist Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mrs. Guirard worked at Headstart for over 40 years. She enjoyed shopping and loved cooking for her family and friends, but she especially loved taking care of her grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Cal Guirard and his wife, Yvette, and Robert L. Guirard and his wife, Keely; six grandchildren, Laci Hebert, Kassie Miguez, Ashley Guirard, Casey Theriot, Nick Bulliard, and Kelly Bulliard; and seven great grandchildren, Kailyn Hebert, Kale Hebert, Jayda Miguez, Lacke Miguez, Emmie Miguez, Kyra Bulliard, and Kayden Bulliard. She is preceded in death by her husband, C. P. Guirard; her parents, Luther and Julia Davis Perkins; two sisters, Maxie Melancon and Hazel Earnest; and a granddaughter, Erin Guirard. Pallbearers will be Stevie Beslin, Tommy Beslin, Casey Theriot, Nick Bulliard, Wayne Melancon, and Earl Dundas. Honorary pallbearer will be DeBlanc Beslin.
