Jackie Joseph Robertson, Sr.

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Notre Dame Catholic Church honoring the life of Jackie Joseph Robertson, Sr., 74, who passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at his residence.

A visitation will take place at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Saturday from 8:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am.

A Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 am on Saturday morning.

Father Marcel Danyo S.V.D. will officiate the Funeral Mass. Reader will be Dora Robertson. 

Burial will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery.

Born on January 12, 1952, in St. Martinville, Louisiana, Jackie was a cherished member of his community and a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend.

Jackie worked tirelessly throughout his life as a skilled welder and painter at Vernon Manufacturing in Parks, where he employed the craftsmanship he learned from his father and uncle. His dedication to his work was matched only by his profound love for his family. Those fortunate enough to know Jackie will remember him as a quiet man with a joyful spirit; he had a remarkable ability to make others laugh and brought warmth to every gathering.

Jackie found joy in the simple pleasures of life like racing cars and fishing. Above all, he was a faith-filled individual who loved his family with unwavering devotion. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, demonstrating his commitment to his country and his values.

Jackie leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Hattie Price Robertson; sons, Jackie Robertson, Jr. and Devon Robertson; daughters, Taylor Robertson and Candy Villerreal; brothers, Roland Robertson, Edward Robertson, Jimmy Robertson (Shirley), Patrick Robertson, Ricky Robertson, Daniel Robertson (Christine) and John Paul "Boogie" Robertson (Kathy); sisters, Theresa Nelson and Jacqueline Thomas (Jesse); sisters-in-law, Christine Robertson and Phyllis Robertson; and three grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Robertson, Sr. and Edna Mae Prade Robertson; brothers, Perry J. Robertson, Sr., Lawrence "LJ" Robertson, Jr., Collins Robertson, Johnny Robertson and Anthony Robertson; sisters, Charlene Horton and Patricia Robertson; sisters-in-law, Leeanna Robertson, Alzena Robertson and Lois Robertson.
