St. Martinville- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, August 14, 2023 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Jacqueline Broussard Ramirez, 47, affectionately known as Jackie, passed away on August 11, 2023, at Calcutta House in Lafayette.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM and will continue on Monday from 9:00 AM until 12:30 AM.
A rosary will be prayed by Rev. Bill Melancon at 7:00 PM on Sunday.
Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Kristen Hebert and Judy Simar. Gift bearers will be Dwayne Dore and Donna Blanchard.
Interment will follow at a later date.
She was born on July 28, 1976, in St. Martinville. Jackie's proudest accomplishments revolved around her family. She poured her heart and soul into providing a loving and nurturing environment for her loved ones. Her unwavering commitment to her husband and children was truly admirable and unparalleled.
While Jackie cherished her role as a homemaker, she also had a zest for life beyond her family responsibilities. She had a deep love for sports, particularly the Boston Red Sox and the Saints football team. Watching games brought her immeasurable joy and excitement. When Jackie found time outside of being a devoted wife and mother, she indulged in various hobbies and interests. She was an excellent cook who delighted in preparing delicious meals, dancing, taking trips to the Casino and to top it all off, she adored spending time with her beloved dog Ingram, who brought endless companionship and love into her life.
The memory of Jacqueline Broussard Ramirez will forever remain etched in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her love and positivity will continue to inspire us all. May her soul find eternal peace, knowing that she made an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Mitchell Ramirez; four children, Michael Goo, Gavin Goo, Jacelyn Dore and Madelyn Broussard; mother, Sandra Prioux; father, Bobby Broussard, Jr. (Marlene); brother, Jason Harvey Broussard; maternal grandmother, Philomene Champagne Prioux; mother-in-law, Corliss Ramirez; and one nephew, Rhett Broussard.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Harvey Prioux; paternal grandfather, Bobby Broussard, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Gurlie Broussard; step-sister, Casey Peltier; and father-in-law, John Garfield Ramirez.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Ramirez, Michael Goo, Gavin Goo, Justin Prioux, Trevor Stoute, and Jeremy Simar.
Honorary pallbearers will be Garth Stoute, Jacob Simar and Judd Prioux.
