James Malvernhill Horn

St. Martinville A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Monday, May 19, 2014, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for James Malvernhill Horn, 70, who passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:00 am until 12:45 pm on Monday with a rosary being prayed at 12 noon, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. Rev. Rusty Richard will officiate at the Memorial Service. Scriptures will be read by Ethan Horn and Emmalee Horn. Gift Bearers will be Ian Horn, Joseph Vaughn, and Lillian Horn. Inurnment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mr. Horn served on the Voter Registration Commission and was a member of the A.A.R.P. His hobbies included reading on his Kindle, surfing on Amazon, talking on the phone, watching the hummingbirds, cooking, and occasional trips to Loreauville. What he treasured and enjoyed most of all was spending time with his family and spoiling his grandkids. He is survived by two sons, Edwin J. Horn and wife, Laura S. Horn, and Frank Horn and wife, Shawna T. Horn, all of St. Martinville; his daughter, Mattie H. Vaughn and husband, Zachary, of Loreauville; his brother, Matthew Horn, Jr. and wife, Audrey, of Jeanerette; 11 grandchildren, Ethan Horn, Emmalee Horn, Edwin-Michael Horn, Elise Horn, Ian Horn, Lillian Horn, Dominic Horn, Tristan Horn, Jayson Vaughn, Joseph Vaughn, and Carmen Vaughn; a step grandchild, Brett Hebert; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeannette Barras Horn; his parents, Matthew Horn, Sr. and Mae Boudin Horn; and his sister, Lynne LaSalle.
