Jamie Kay Black Breaux was born in Franklin, Louisiana on July 15, 1976, to the late Thomas Black, Sr. and Gale Esta Black. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in early childhood development, she worked as a teacher and social worker for St. Mary/Vermilion Parish Head Start for several years before retirement.
Jamie had a vibrant personality, reflected by her love of bright colors and flamingos. She enjoyed flower arranging, photography, reading, and making random Sonic runs for her favorite drink, blackberry water. She was an avid dog lover and adored her three big dogs, but what she cherished most was time spent with her family. Jamie was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed.
Jamie is survived by her loving husband, Jason Breaux; children, Peyton Breaux, Connor Breaux, and Kynleigh Breaux; siblings, Peggy Martin (David), Rebecca Buteaux (Zebulon), and Thomas Black, Jr. (Brandy); nieces and nephews, Rylee Buteaux, Tucker Moyer, Ripley Taylor, Zeppelin Taylor, Hadassah Black, Allie Black, M.J. Black, Brooklyn Mason, and Kaitlyn Mason; mother-in-law, Judy Breaux; sister-in-law, Amy Breaux; and brother-in-law, Christopher Breaux.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nephew, Jaden Buteaux; and father-in-law, Randy Breaux.
Jamie will forever be in our hearts. May she rest in peace.
