Janell PatinNew Iberia - A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Janell Patin, 77, who passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, in Lafayette. Entombment will follow in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery in Loreauville. Rev. Keith Landry will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by the Men’s Group, will be prayed at 11:00 am Saturday. A native and lifelong resident of Iberia Parish, Ms. Patin was born on October 29, 1943 to the late Edgar Joseph Patin and Eve Marie Patin. She was retired from Iberia Medical Center and volunteered at the Solomon House. Ms. Patin loved people, visiting with everyone and always ready to go anywhere. She also enjoyed solving word puzzles and watching movies. She is survived by her two daughters, Maxine B. Gonsoulin of Lafayette and Crystal B. Bernard of New Iberia; three grandchildren, Brandy Gonsoulin (Fiance Scott Burtscher), Brett Bernard (Brittney), and Justin Bernard; eight great grandchildren, Calvin Burtscher, Tyson Burtscher, Nathan Bernard, Cayden Bernard, Braylon Bernard, Eastton Bernard, Paxton Bernard, and Avaleigh Bernard; and her former spouse and special friend, Alvin Bergeron of New Iberia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry F. Patin. Pallbearers will be Brett Bernard, Nathan Bernard, Cayden Bernard, Chuck Grubb, Ted Breaux, and Rodney Patin. Honorary pallbearer will be Ronnie Gonsoulin. A live stream will be held for family and friends that cannot attend the funeral service. I have not seen this beautiful sweet lady in years, I would always see her at consolata home when she would come to visit with her mother Ms. Eve parin, I loved these two lady so, alike family, I worked as an LPN there, and had become best of friends, dear Jesus take care of this sweet ang, and her beautiful family, love Patrick leblanc

Dear Maxine and Crystal, we send our sympathies . Sheila and I spent many visits with your Mom. She had called me up one day, saying , "we're related", and from that day we got together going out to eat, and even drove up hwy.49 to a big flea market. Each tine she moved to a new location, Sheila and I would go visit, I cherish all those time we spent with your Mom. I still have the research I did on the Patin family, Love .June and Sheila Granger

To the Family of Ms. Janelle you all have my most heart felt condolences. I worked with her for a number of years ago at Iberia Medical Center. She was the most kind and loving friend a person could have. She was one who would give her last to a person. I could go on but my heart is sadden of knowing This. I thought of her last week.
