New Iberia - Private graveside services will be held at the Carter Cemetery in Bastrop for Jannie Pagan Whiting, 90, who passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016, in New Iberia.
A native of Bonita and a longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Whiting was born on February 15, 1926 to Porter and Clyde Walton Pagan. She worked as a nurse at New Iberia Manor North, and also as a hairdresser. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Rhonda Lynn Johnston of New Iberia, Barbara Jane McAcy and husband David Lewis McAcy of New Iberia; son, Russell Leroy Whiting, Jr. and wife Michelle Vallot of Breaux Bridge; grandchildren, Stephanie McAcy Smith and husband Shane Smith, Sr., Carrie McAcy, Marcus Johnston, Amy Johnston Perry; 5 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Leroy Whiting, Sr.; a brother, Merle Pagan; and a sister, Fannie Lee Bryan.
