St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Jean L. Louviere, 83, who passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. 

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Saturday from 7:30 am until 9:30 am. 

A Rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am on Saturday morning by the Men's Rosary Group of New Iberia. 

Father John Joseph will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. 

Jean was an avid New Orleans Saints fan. She loved to play bingo and go dancing. Although she had no children, she loved and spoiled everyone else's children as her own, especially her nieces and nephews. Jean was a loving and devoted wife, sister and aunt, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman Louviere; parents, Emile Latiolais and Martha Barras Latiolais; and sisters, Mercedes Blanchard, Doreen Delahoussaye and Sophie Lasseigne. 

Pallbearers will be Jake Delahoussaye, Trent Delahoussaye, Doug Frederick, Nick Frederick, Chad Viator and Austin Simon. 

Honorary pallbearers will be David Bourque, Sr., David Bourque, Jr., Carol Delahoussaye and Kylee Hebert. 

​The family wishes to give a special thanks to the entire staff at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home for their care and compassion.
