Jean P. Landry

New Iberia – Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Jean P. Landry, 84, who passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Rev. Keith Landry will officiate. 

Visitation will be Friday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Saturday, from 8:00 am until 10:00 am.

A rosary, led by Deacon Durk Viator, will be prayed at 6:00 pm Friday, at Pellerin Funeral Home. 

A native and resident of New Iberia, Jean Peltier Landry was born on December 12, 1939, to the late Clay Peltier Sr. and Viola Courrege Peltier. Over the span of her career, she worked as a nurse’s aide and a bank teller, then retired after 34 years as Office Manager of Landry’s Uniform Company, Inc., which Jean co-owned with her husband, Earl. Jean was very creative. She was a talented seamstress, and an accomplished artist whose beautiful paintings were admired by many. She loved delving into genealogy and was fascinated by the connections she made. But above all else, her family was what she cherished most; they were everything to her. A stern but loving mother, she went above and beyond for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed. 

Mrs. Landry is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Earl J. Landry; children, Susan Landry, Daniel Landry (Michael Thibodeaux), Brent Landry (LeAnne), Julie Landry-Garcia (Tony), Tommy Landry and Bart Landry; siblings, Joyce Nereaux, Betty Peltier, Peggy Skinner, Judy Bernard, Clay Peltier, Jr. (Peggy), Viola Labry (Allen), Jeannette Wilkens (Greg), and Glenn Peltier; grandchildren, Tiffani LeBlanc, Paul Landry, Logan Landry (Meaghan), Dawn Prioux (Chris), Chase Landry, Beck Landry, Andre Garcia, and Alex Garcia; great-grandchildren, Justin Horton and Jamie Claire Prioux, Rilyn Pellerin, Bret Pellerin, Maeve Pellerin, Rowan Landry; and a sister-in-law, Linda Chriss Peltier. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Martin LeBlanc; brother, and Jimmy Peltier.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Landry, Brent Landry, Tommy Landry, Paul Landry, Logan Landry, and Michael Thibodeaux. 

Honorary pallbearers include Bart Landry, Justin Horton, Chase Landry, Beck Landry, Tony Garcia, and Chris Prioux.
