Reverend Michael Delcambre, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will conduct the services. Jean, a resident of the Cecilia/Arnaudville area was the step-daughter of the late Charles Johnson and the late, Joan Schmidt-Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Michael Johnson of Milton, FL. Jean was born in Boston, MA on August 18, 1954, and moved with her mother and step-father to Milton, FL. Later she moved to Morgan City, LA and retired from Exxon/Mobil in 2000. She moved with her beloved husband, Charles Taylor to a beautiful picturesque retirement in Cecilia/Arnaudville, Louisiana that same year. Together they built their dream home under the gorgeous ancient Live Oaks on the Bayou Teche. After retirement, Jean pursued higher education, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and was later employed as a real estate agent with Van Eaton and Romero. She was also a member of Xi Tau Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Jean leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Charles Taylor; her son, Samuel Viola and his partner, Jessica Lallande, of Houma, LA; two step daughters, Melissa Taylor Waldron and her husband, Greg, of Baton Rouge, and Paula Taylor Drye, and her husband, Reginald, of Lafayette, LA; her step son, Bryan Taylor and his wife, Shannon, of Baton Rouge, LA; three grandchildren, Luci Viola, Taylor Drye, and Piper Taylor; and her brother, John Johnson of Lafayette, LA. Jean Taylor was a loving mother, step-mother, and grandmother with a kind heart and a green thumb. She will forever be adored by her family, dogs, Pappy and Jacques, and the many plants and flowers by the bayou. Jeans family would like to thank the I.C.U. nursing and medical staff at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana for their empathy and care.
