Arnaudville A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 pm, on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Jean Edward "Katee" Trahan, 80, who passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Basile Care Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:30 am until 9:00 pm on Friday, and continue at 7:00 am until 12 noon on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday.
Rev. Keenan Brown will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Margaret Kidder and Gift Bearers will be his grandchildren. Interment will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau.
Mr. Trahan honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed going fishing and having good times with family and friends, but he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren who brought complete joy to his life.
He is survived by his son, Joseph E. Trahan and Alvin R. (Darlene) Trahan, all of Arnaudville; four grandchildren, Joshua E. Trahan, Baylin Michael Trahan, Destiny Rose Trahan, and Aryonna Rae Trahan; his brother, Webster Trahan of Beaumont, TX; and two sisters, Amelise Lejeune of Eunice and Rose Deshotel of Jennings.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rosalie Bernard Trahan; his parents, Aristile and Melinda Schexnaider Trahan; two brothers, Howard and Leazy Trahan; and twin sisters, Mary Jane Roger and Mary Ann Stoutes.
Pallbearers will be Joseph E. Trahan, Alvin R. Trahan, Josh Trahan, Baylin Trahan, Curtis Savoy Jr., and Leopold Bernard, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Destiny Trahan and Aryonna Trahan.
