Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 11 a .m. , on Monday, November 22, 2010 , at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Jeanette Alex Daigle, 55, who passed away on Friday, November 19, 2010 at St. Agnes Nursing Home.
Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery .
Fr. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers and gift bearers will be Cassie Gauthier and Mandy Celestine.
Mary Jeannette Alex Daigle, born December 2, 1954 in Lafayette , Louisiana , was second of five children of Harold Alex, Sr. and Lela Broussard Alex.
On, November 19, 2010 , at the age of 55, Jeannette heard the voice of her Heavenly Father as she hastily, yet humbly answered her Master's call and stepped aboard the Chariot of Eternal Life. We pause to give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for her wisdom, strength, and faith in God, and for the legacy that she passed on to us.
Jeanette's journey with the Lord began at an early age. She was baptized at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Arnaudville , Louisiana where she remained a faithful member until the year of 1973. She moved to Houston , Texas and was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Cathedral Church and returned in the year of 1982. She became of member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church of Cecilia, Louisiana upon her return where she remained a faithful member until her demise. Jeanette received her early education in Cecilia , Louisiana .
Jeanette was united in Holy Matrimony to Albert Daigle, April of 1972. They were blessed with two sons Kirk and Keith Daigle. Later in life she met Michael Williams and had one son Kody Michael Williams, Sr. Jeannette was blessed with thirteen grandchildren. Not only did she provide unconditional love for her children and grandchildren she also served as their backbone and support in times of weakness and fear.
Jeanette was a dutiful worker for Fruit of the Loom for over twenty years and then worked for McDonalds for 8 years until the time of her illness.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her Grandparents Auther Alex and Octiva Derouselle Alex, Regina Cluse Broussard and Arille Broussard and Daughter-In-Law Keisha Alexander.
Left with broken hearts to cherish Jeanette leaves behind her loved ones: three sons, Kirk (Tiffany) Daigle, Keith Daigle and Kody Michael Williams, Sr. all of Cecilia , Louisiana . Thirteen grand-children; Megan, Destaine, Keirston, and Irieona Daigle, Kody Jr., Kaylee, and Kristian Williams, Kirk Jr., Kanun and Kyeion Daigle. Parents Harold and Lela Alex (Arnaudville); two sisters: Judy Alex (Arnaudville), Dianne (Dennis) Frederick (Cecilia); two brothers: Harold Alex, Jr. (Breaux Bridge) and Timmy Alex (Breaux Bridge); Nieces: Cassie Gauthier (Houston), Felicia Samuel (Kentucky), Centrell Carter (Lafayette), Brittany Alex (Lafayette); Nephews: Chad Zenon (Breaux Bridge), Arielle Alex (Breaux Bridge), Larry Alex (New Iberia); two special cousins: Nancy Broussard William and Sarah Alex Goodie; two caring neighbors: Wanda Celestine and Elnora Celestine Charles and a host of loving cousins and friends.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7 a .m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Keith Daigle, Kirk Daigle, Kody Williams, Sr., Harold Alex, Jr., Dennis Frederick, Edward Broussard, and John Williams.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of St. Agnes Nursing Home, Hospice of Acadiana, U.M.C., Oncology Center at Our Lady of Lourdes, and to her caregivers, Nancy Broussard, Wanda Woods, and Sarah Alex Goodie.
